One More Sleep!
We are really looking forward to welcoming our pupils back to school tomorrow morning. We can’t wait to meet all the new children in Junior Infants and children in all other classes throughout the school starting with us for the first time. Céad Míle Fáilte!
Junior Infants: We will welcome you at 10am in the school yard. Children will make their way to their rooms through the blue doors and parents can come back to collect them at 12midday.
All other classes: School gates will open at 8.50am and children can make their way independently to their rooms from the green gate. There will be lots of teachers available to point children in the right direction. School finishes at the usual time of 1.40/2.40pm.
Please take note the car park is always a little bit busier on the first few days. There are also roadworks on the Dublin Road. The forecast is good so it might be nice to walk to school if you can.
All the Ard Rí team have been busy getting the school ready for the new year. The place is looking lovely! For anyone who might be feeling a bit nervous just remember- ‘Come in and do your best- teacher does the rest!’

The return to school is just around the corner. I hope you are all enjoying the fine weather. Preparations for the beginning of a new school year are getting underway. I want to provide you with some quick reminders and updates.
- School reopens for all pupils on Wednesday 31st August. Classes Senior Infants to 6th start at 9am. Junior Infants are in school from 10am-midday on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
- There will be a slight change to morning routine. ‘Drop and Go’ and ‘Park and Walk’ will work as before. The green gates will open at 8.50am, children will line up on yard- under supervision, and enter their classrooms all together at 9am with first lesson commencing immediately.
- We are putting the final touches on recruitment and teacher allocation. We will communicate your child’s teacher and classroom to you next week.
- If you have not already done so; please make payment for school fees as soon as possible. School uniform is available through Geoghegans, Trimgate Street. Your child will need a good size school bag, a well stocked pencil case, a lunchbox for a healthy lunch and a reusable water bottle. LABEL EVERYTHING!
- We are currently working on setting up an after-school hour for pupils in Junior and Senior Infants. This will begin in October.
- We are delighted to announce the launch of some new extra-curricular activities at Ard Rí!
There are still places available in some classes. As explained before the summer our teacher allocation depends on pupil numbers. If you know of any one looking for a school place or if your child will not be returning to school with us please email [email protected].
